Selection Procedures

We will begin consideration for Honors Program admissions for the next academic year in January 2010. Please check our website for updates.

There is no additional application required for the Honors Program, nor is there a particular combination of test scores and grades that guarantees an invitation into the program. Rather, the selection committee reviews the applications and supporting credentials of the students who have been selected for admission to the Institute as entering freshmen. All of the information included in the application will be considered in the decisions, and special attention will be given to students whose credentials also show evidence of a strong desire for a challenging, interdisciplinary, inquiry-based educational experience.

Approximately one hundred exceptional freshmen will be invited to enroll in the Honors Program in the fall semester each year. First-year students who are not selected to participate in the Honors Program prior to their enrollment at Georgia Tech will have an opportunity to apply for admission to the Honors Program at the end of the fall semester.

To understand what is generally expected of students in the Honors Program, please refer to the Honors Program Courses, Statement of Curricular Expectations, and Honors Program Residence pages.
